ping pong

yes, i have an adult bestie who likes to play ping pong-competitively. it was a pretty fun time at the zune space. a bunch of people got together and created teams of 3 to pound a small ball around for a few hours. roman coppola's team def won style points, but seemed to get knocked out on the earlier side. union+undftd took it all the way, well not all the way. both teams seemed to choke at the bitter end. next time kids, next time.

tracee rules

after a bunch of cyber meetings i finally got to meet tracee in person. i must say she's fucking radical. good style-obvi and good sense of humor. its refreshing in a town full of twizzle twats to meet someone who's strictly amaze.

no big deal

my bff who has nurtured me in all things great is featured here speaking the truth to the fashion and un fashionable set. i wish she would have mentioned her love of sauces, karaoke, and throwing drinks on people.

mechanically inclined

one of my many dreams as a youth on the uws was to own a wagoneer. i have come pretty close this year, but never knew anyone who could really help me figure out what's what under the hood-since they are vintage and seem to have problems. looks like i have found someone who knows more about whips than, well i don't know who, but he appears to know a lot. sir mike has agreed to help me with my scooter dreams as well as my wagoneer quest. get pumped kids, get pumped!

the prince

the prince hotel makes some good fried chicken-please no jokes... the interior is quite amazing, def didn't feel like i was in k-town. being a nerd's nerd, after eating i did a bit of research and found out that the building was used as a hotel/apartment building since 1927, since buying the restaurant, the current owner who must be a gem, hasn't changed the decor at all. there's something to be said about maintaining the good shit.

steve ree bday

cam+wilks+jups selected good beats, we broke the photo booth, i stabbed crza in the eye, and no one ate cake-i'm sensing male+female body issues.

early morning

sung scooped me quite early for a lil inspiration trip. he endured a lot of teasing and good ideas. i on the other hand got to drink beer at 9 am, give chrissie a high five and buy other peoples crap. i was tempted to buy ghettopoly, but felt like i was doing something terribly wrong. the horses, you know who those are for!

i'm down for the brand not 100% on kd. band of outsiders does well on their "boy"line. i'm pretty obsessed with this and that shoe from south williard!!!

hs reunion

had a funny time with diana and adrienne. it feels like i just saw them, but its been atleast 10 years or so. but i guess that's the internet-makes you feel close to anyone-even peeps you don't ever speak to. i finallly questioned lady d about a very "made for lifetime" situation she went through. i waited 12 years to grill her about it, it was totally worth the wait.

i must say 1/2 of team korea is fun to eat dinner with. altho he sometimes likes to chat it up in korean, and you know i don't know korean. i just nod and smile real big.

the black list

while editing i watched (really just listened to) the documentary the black list, which timothy greenfield-sanders directed. it was moving to hear each individual discuss what the term black list meant to them and delving into what is to be black in america. i was particularly moved by toni morrison, thelma golden and lorna simpson. not just because they are black women involved in the arts, but their struggles to work hard and achieve what they desire most-regardless of their conflict with society and how they were treated. its ruff out there sometimes and documentaries like this help a lady like me keep my mother fucking eye on the prize.
